Happy-go-lucky Taylor Lautner plays Jacob Black in Twilight. I had already finished the entire Twilight Saga when I found out that this handsome smiley guy would be portraying Jacob Black and I was very excited. Although he wasn’t Stephenie Meyer’s choice, I think that the movie casting director knew what she was doing. Taylor is extremely talented, magnetic, and happy. You just can’t help loving this guy. He is adorable. This is EXACTLY what Jacob Black needs to be like. Everyone needs to fall in love with him- even when they try not to. It is a must for the Twilight Saga to go on. Taylor doesn’t have a huge role in the first movie, but it is HUGE in the following movies! From what I have seen and read about this guy, he is up to the challenge of creating this important character onscreen. He also appears to have a great personality off the screen, so it looks like he will be able to handle the off-screen responsibility of Twilight fandom. Taylor does have a little Native American in his blood. He has Ottawa and Potawatomi ancestry through his mom. He has French, Dutch and German as well. When he was 11, he was ranked number one in the world for NASKA's Black Belt Open Forms, Musical Weapons, Traditional Weapons and Traditional Forms. By the time he was twelve, he won Junior World Championships. He also plays baseball, football, and dances hip-hop! He is clearly very talented and energetic. His acting career started out when he tried out for a commercial and didn’t get it. This try out gave him the acting bug and he wanted more. He acted on TV, then his big break came when he did the movie The Adventures of Shark Boy and Lava Girl, then Dirty Dozen II. He has also done voice work for cartoons like Scooby-Doo and Charlie Brown.
