The Captivating Twilight Novel
The Twilight novel was published, dreamed, and accepted for publication in the course of only six months! There is actually a very interesting story behind the story itself. On June 2, 2003 author Stephenie Meyer had an extremely vivid dream. In her own words: In my dream, two people were having an intense conversation in a meadow in the woods. One of these people was just your average girl. The other person was fantastically beautiful, sparkly, and a vampire. They were discussing the difficulties inherent in the facts that A) they were falling in love with each other while B) the vampire was particularly attracted to the scent of her blood, and was having a difficult time restraining himself from killing her immediately. (This scene is now in Chapter 13 of the Twilight Novel.) On this day, Stephenie Meyer had a full day planned as a busy mother of 3 young children. As soon as she had the chance, she found herself at the computer writing about her incredible dream. The story took on a life of its own. The Twilight Characters became like imaginary friends for her. Stephenie started her novel at the point of her dream and added from there. She had never written more than a few chapters of a story before this novel. She hadn’t even written anything for six years. Stephenie says that she mostly wrote this story for herself. She is completely in love with her characters- perhaps more than her fans. This clearly shows when you hear her talk about them. She loves her story, her fans love her story, and she loves her fans. This calculates into millions of books being sold as well as millions of addicted “Twilighters” all over the world. After Stephenie finished her first book she continued to write epilogue after epilogue and finally realized that this was a sign that the Twilight story needed to go on. The Twilight novel is the first of the bestselling Twilight Saga books. Eclipse, New Moon, and Breaking Dawn follow. My advice is that you read this amazing vampire romance! But I must give you a warning: Clear your schedule for the next one or two days, because you will NOT be able to put this book down! You will be in a different world. I am not joking about this. You may even be depressed that you are not a vampire. Don’t worry. You’ll get over it.
